Job Summary:
Responsible for the sale of the organization’s products throughout the United States. This position sells Fuji Foods, Inc. products using technical, organizational and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products to their needs resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner.
· Determine market strategies and goals for each product line and service.
· Research, develop, and maintain list of potential customers.
· Do market research to determine customer needs and provide information to other staff.
· Evaluate product and service marketability in terms of customer’s technical needs.
· Follow up on sales leads and developing leads.
· Maintain up to date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.
· Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales.
· Work with telemarketing, sales support, and staff to establish a communication path with the customer to ensure sales in a professional and effective manner.
· Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner.
· Develop sales and marketing proposals for customers on products and services.
· Maintain up to date awareness of activities, industry trends, and government regulations.
· Make regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads.
· Meeting established sales quotas and revenue goals.
· Manage sales budget.
· Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner.
· Research, develop, and maintain long- and short-range sales and marketing plans.
· Produce regular reports and final plans for manager’s approval.
· Maintain an up to date awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans.
· Monitor, analyze, and communicate dales data, via contact management software to contribute to product planning.
· Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional. Manner with all levels of staff and customers.
· Communicate openly, honestly, and constructively.
· Treat all employees and customers with dignity, respect, and courtesy.
· Take responsibility for and make efforts to resolve any communication, trust, and/or respect concerns or issues.
· Be proactive in asking for information needed to perform job responsibilities.
· Assist in special projects and perform other duties as directed by the President.
Job Requirements:
· At least 8 years’ experience of sales with a food manufacturing organization selling food related products and services within the food industry to senior level executives and key department heads.
· Experience managing large territories and state of the art product offerings.
· Demonstrate the ability in problem solving and negotiation with special emphasis on closing the sale.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.
· Computer proficiency to include intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word and Office skills as well as Internet research skills and experience using database system.
· Possess good written and verbal skills.
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work; ability to effectively handle multiple projects with track record of successful project completion; and ability to work positively under pressure.
· Ability to take initiative and creativity to troubleshoot/problem solve and determine the approach or action to take in non-routine situations.
· Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Mandatory Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, business or related fields
- 3+ years knowledge and best practices in all key areas of management, preferred * Superior analytic, strategic and organizational skills, coupled with honesty, integrity, judgement and discretion
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, media relations, interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build community contacts.
